About Us

Repair services are provided by Margaret Noble -- a professional oboist originally from Los Angeles, where she split her time as a freelance musician and oboe repair person, working with Mark Chudnow. After three years of apprenticeship, Margaret "came east" to provide OboeWorks customers with the repair services of a true oboe specialist.

Margaret holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in oboe performance and music education from UCLA and a Master of Music degree in oboe performance from USC. In LA, when not working on her apprenticeship, she performed with numerous symphonies, ballet companies, and opera and theatre productions throughout the Los Angeles area. She also spent time in the recording studio, recording for several movies and TV shows.

Since arriving in Washington, DC in 1994, Margaret has worked to continue her performing/repairing tradition. She maintains a busy freelancing career, performing regularly with many of the areas orchestras, opera and ballet companies, and spends her days with OboeWorks, affording her an outlet for her repair skills, through which she receives immense enjoyment!
